Open Up in Business - Core Program and Coaching

Our company has had the pleasure of working with Lorna Patten from Open Up for some 9 years now. Lorna was instrumental in changing the entire culture of our 220 odd sized staff at a time when our business was in very turbulent and chaotic times. We adopted the new paradigm and switched our entire offices culture to one based on 4 key words OPEN, HONEST, LOVING and FAIR.

Not only has the company benefited enormously from all of Lorna’s teachings and insights but so many of the individuals within our offices have had amazing personal transformations in their own life. Speaking personally I have never been more content with life than I have since reshaping my thought processes and I am sure it is the reason that our company has experienced enormous growth over the past 9 years.

Lorna is unique. She is challenging. She is relentless and has an incredible insight … She is nothing short of incredible.

Andrew Bell, CEO, The Ray White Group, Surfers Paradise

Lorna and Open Up supported me as CEO with our team at Easy Being Green during a period of extraordinary growth and change. Her approach helped us to build a culture of love, hope, high performance and accountability, a combination not easy to perfect! I still get comments from executives several years later who have now moved on but credit the process with changing their professional lives and leading them to much higher levels of success and happiness. I couldn't recommend Lorna more highly.

We wanted to change our game. Open Up workshops allowed us to quickly get to the heart of what was really going on with each of us. Their unique ability to support yet cut through old tired patterns and show a different way to look at things is so refreshing and impactful. Everyone gets to walk away profoundly changed.
Penny Couchman, da Vinci Marketing

Our interaction with Lorna and her company, Open Up, goes back at least eight years. Over that time, through the medium of workshops and one on one training, we have acquired skills that have helped develop a culture of openness and honesty in our business - openness and honesty with our staff, with our suppliers and with our clients. I am convinced that having these skills has significantly contributed to the long term success of our business.

The skills I refer to centre on communication. In business, the “normal” culture is to not tell the truth, particularly if telling the truth will lead to either confrontation, admitting failure or weakness or dobbing on a mate. The effect of this behaviour is to limit the development of mature relationships within a business and restrict effective teamwork. In financial planning in particular, being able to develop sincere and trusting relationships is vital. It ensures we get the best outcomes for our clients.

In times of stress such as many small businesses regularly experience, we need to communicate more, not less and we need to communicate effectively. We need to develop mature relationships that foster openness and honesty. Open Up Communications has enabled us to do this consistently, contributing to our success as a business and to us individually as well.

Kay Aarons, Director, Strategic Financial Solutions

My life changed...Lorna helped me increase my self awareness and then use that awareness to improve my relationship skills. I thought I was already pretty good at this, but I didn't know what I didn't know. Lorna gets great results, is expert and creative and is now a regular part of my new life and I am loving it!
Hugh Amoyal, Managing Director, Ipsos Australia

If you want a fundamental shift in the culture of your business then these workshops are the only place to go. In my previous professional role as a lawyer and the CEO of a major legal firm on the Central Coast consisting of 55 people everyone in the business participated in the workshops. The change in the culture of the business was profound and immediate. The Open Up Workshops showed us how to create a business based on love. We dealt with our ‘not good enough’ stuff, took responsibility for what was going on for us in our roles and life in general and told our whole truth moment by moment. The relationships we created within the team and with our clients is something that I will always cherish.

Personally I have participated in the Open Up Workshops on a number of occasions. Each time I learnt something new about myself which has helped me to identify my ‘not good enough’ stuff, let go of judgment and stand in my own magnificence. The change that participation in these workshops have created for me has been profound, life changing and very rewarding.

Individual Coaching

Lorna Patten is a master facilitator. Her ability to understand what it is that drives human behaviour is nothing short of remarkable. She is fearless, gorgeous and the person I go to for clarity, perspective and to understand how I do create the whole of my reality. I love her - so will you.
Matt Church, Creator, Thought Leaders

Lorna has been one of the big influences in my life. She has showed me new ways of being and thinking that have allowed me to find so much peace in the most challenging of times. It is so rare, and has been such a relief, to find someone who is so uncompromising and yet so compassionate. If Lorna had been in my business a year or two earlier I'm sure life would have been less dramatic and much easier.
Maurice Goldberg, Founder, Maurice Goldberg Inc

Lorna is a true expert in her field. She is full of love and wisdom, which she warmly shares with everyone she touches. When asked to describe her to others it is difficult to convey the depths of what she does and inevitably I come back to 2 words, she helps you to 'open up'. You leave lighter and clearer. I would highly recommend everyone has a dose of Lorna.
Kirsty Spraggon Speaker and Author of “Work As If You Own It"

Simply said, Lorna changed my life. Lorna Patten is the most gifted person that I have had the privilege to be associated with. Lorna showed me how to love myself, my family and all those around me. Lorna has a profound understanding of human behaviour and communication. She has an exquisite skill in dealing with people and supporting them to be the most magnificent version of themselves. Lorna coaching is challenging, confront and not for the faint hearted however the rewards are second to none. Lorna is the first person I turn to for support every time. Lorna is the epitome of love.

Open Up Training Program

I can’t recommend more highly the value that the Open Up Training has given me. As a facilitator and supporter of peoples’ process, it has allowed me a deep insight into the depth and breadth of knowledge and skill that Lorna Patten has and has impacted powerfully the way I show up in my work. I unreservedly recommend this training for anyone who works with, supports, leads, trains or facilitates other people.
David Walker, Dare To Be Remarkable

The Open Up Facilitator Training with Lorna has been Truly Transformational. Lorna is a most talented Facilitator and coordinator and holder of the space … I have witnessed all participants expanding their consciousness, connectedness, love and respect of ourselves and of each other … We now speak our whole truth sooner and now take more and more responsibility for the creation of the whole of our own reality. It has been an amazing, extremely rich and joy-filled experience. I recommend it highly.
Sajeela Cormack, CEO, Life Architects Pty Ltd

This training is a must for anyone comtemplating or currently working with people in any capacity. The training is challenging, confronting and thought provoking. The training will provide you with the knowledge and skills to understand yourself and others at a deeper level. Lorna is the master of understanding self and others. Lorna has supreme skills in presenting and training. She gets straight to the heart of the issue with love, patience and tolerance. She is direct and challenging. The training is exciting, inspiring and energising. Lorna has many tools in her kit bag and she generously shares these. If you are looking for a fundamental change in the way in which you work with people than this is the training for you. Lorna so exquisitely created a safe space for me to experience all aspects of myself including my own magnificence. At the same time Lorna showed me how to apply all this at a real practical level in my own Coaching Business. I enjoyed the training so much that our group are going to continue the training with Lorna as a group together.

The Mask Game Workshop

Lorna, thanks for the Mask Game Workshop and for your awesome team. Within a number of hours of walking in the door at home I discovered two things. The love I have for my family, with the best two hugs of my life with my two children. And secondly how my Masks have been impacting my relationship with my wife. No turning back now!
Steve F - Sydney

I still enjoy a unique connection to the people with whom I shared The Masks Game workshop, even after 7 or so years if we meet in the street there is something extra to our interaction something closer, more intimate as if we have climbed Everest together. And we seldom talk about the weather.

“A friend is a person with whom I may be sincere. Before him I may think aloud” these words are attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson and in many ways for me they summarise The Masks Game. The opportunity to think or maybe more simply to be before friends can be rare in this world.

I have become aware of some of the patterns that recur in my life sometimes keeping me from peace. The Masks Game provided a powerful space in which I experienced up close some of the patterns I was completely unaware of, there are some things we don’t know we don’t know to paraphrase a well-known former US politician. Now this can be a kicker and also quite liberating. Sometimes the game is up and that’s it.

With this in mind the Masks Game is still a game it’s not a matter of life and death it is simply a space to show up warts and all and commune and have fun with others seeking what many of us crave, that sometimes elusive sense of release and inner calm that comes when we just let go.

My partner has a five-year-old daughter and I have many opportunities to witness her and others of her age interacting. I am continually struck by the way they stand a few centimetres apart staring into each others eyes just gazing sometime in silence sometimes with commentary but always with absolute innocence and honesty. Somewhere along the journey, gradually I suspect, I had forgotten I still possessed that innocence and that I still had that ability to look someone in the eye and let my heart speak. I know on the occasions when I do another dimension to the conversation is created, one of value and beauty.

For those who choose to revisit this golden childlike age The Masks Game provides the safest and clearest of spaces and for those who don’t it is still a fantastic place to spend a few hours. It is my experience that 5 minutes or 5 hours spent with Lorna is never dull and I usually leave with my energy restored and my heart whistling a happy tune!

I suspect that if you are reading this you are seriously contemplating taking part in The Masks Game workshop and my offering is simply this, our minds will seek evidence and proof but our hearts just know, so now just choose.

The Go Deeper Forum

Going Deeper is a wonderful opportunity for me to re-connect with my creative self, ‘be’ with like hearted others, allowing me to learn more about myself so I can be ever present when counselling, coaching or educating. There are no expectations of outcomes, nothing to ‘do’ and that is the exquisiteness of Going Deeper. A banquet for my soul!
Sue Lett, HR Manager Ray White Real Estate

It’s like having a bath, putting on my pyjamas and having a glass of wine after a really busy day. But not only do I melt and rest, I also get filled up with inspiration which then gets carried forward into my relationships, my parenting and my work. I guess you could also say it’s like going to a strategy meeting without having to think or do any work. The inspiration comes from the space that Lorna and Dorje create and I have to say that their ‘combo’ is also quite special and very, very entertaining!
Gisele Gambi, Dare to be Remarkable

In this space , freed from agenda and form , miracles happen as I uncover layers of myself both in myself and through the experiences of my peers in the group .This experience is thoroughly enjoyable and I wouldn’t miss it.
